We were beginning to wonder if Gossip Girl was going to be stuck in neutral for the rest of the season! Thankfully, we're finally seeing some plot movement in Season 5, Episode 8: "All The Pretty Sources." Suddenly, everyone's beginning to show their true colors — as a con artist, a Van der Bilt shill, or a much less charming prince than previously assumed. Here are this week's most shocking moments.
Think fast, Ivy
Did any other nineties babies think of the Disney movie Aladdin when Ivy (Kaylee DeFer) was babbling desperately to Lily (Kelly Rutherford)? "I sometimes... dress as a commoner! To... escape the pressures of palace life! But I really am a prince."
But Ivy's no princess, and her skeezy Max (Brian J. Smith) is certainly no Jasmine. Luckily, Lily's happy to have pretty much any teenager come live under her roof and eat waffles, so Ivy is safe for another day.
Diana's out, Nate's in
We feel pretty sorry for Diana (Elizabeth Hurley): She's losing Nate (Chace Crawford), losing the Spectator, and losing her chance to take down Gossip Girl — all over something that really isn't her fault. Of course, she's spent this whole season getting away with dastardly deeds, so we don't feel too sorry for her. Besides, Nate has the attention span of a rabbit, not to mention the libido of one, so we're pretty sure she'll regain some ground.
Louis sells out the entire Upper East Side
Is it just us, or is his hair getting darker as he gets more and more evil?
Max blackmails Ivy
Aww. Wasn't he supposed to be a sweet little symbol of a simpler life? And then he turns around and blackmails her? Boo! We bet his restaurant will suck.
