Ben Affleck feels old, y’all. You’d think, between the gorgeous wife and the Oscar he earned for co-writing Good Will Hunting with Matt Damon, he’d be able to stave off the existential crises — but it just took Gossip Girl’s Blake Lively (Serena), 25, to remind Ben, 40, that he’s no longer a spring chicken.
In an interview with Details, Ben confessed:
When I was doing The Town, I'd tour the actors around Boston. I was with Blake, and I saw Matt [Damon]'s childhood home. And I said, ‘Oh yeah, that's where Matt grew up.’ And she said, ‘Who?’ And I said, ‘Matt Damon.’ And she said, ‘Oh my God! You know Jason Bourne?!’ She really didn't know. And I thought, ‘There it is. The first age of people who are adults who missed the whole Matt-and-Ben propaganda campaign!’ Mostly, it just made me feel old.
Guilty as charged, Ben! We had a hard time not thinking of Ben and Matt as not permanently joined at the hip. Considering that Blake was only 10 years old when the two made their mark on pop culture, we can understand how she missed it — she was probably still playing with the very Barbie she would grow up to look like!
