So it wasn’t the smoothest nuptials in television history, but Blair Waldorf (Leighton Meester) did end up getting hitched at the end of Gossip Girl’s 100th episode, and if you’re still reminiscing, we have all the details of the royal affair.

The Vera Wang dresses, the countless peonies, covers of INXS “Never Tear Us Apart” and Pat Benatar’s “We Belong” at the lavish reception — not one decision or detail was haphazard.

“It’s not an exaggeration that the crew has been planning Blair’s wedding since the pilot,” exec producer Stephanie Savage revealed at a recent screening for the 100th episode. “And Blair has probably been planning her wedding since she was a teeny tiny girl.”

For the Gossip Girl team, getting the dresses from Vera Wang was a given, but actually getting Vera Wang herself to make an appearance this season was kismet.

“Vera Wang made [Blair’s] dress and her bridesmaids’ dresses and that felt like a great fit because Vera is such an iconic New York character,” said Stephanie. “Vera’s actually someone we’ve been trying to get on the show since Season 1.”

And Blair wasn’t the only one getting to show off some Vera Wang couture.

“I think it’s one of the most beautiful looks that Serena’s ever had,” says Stephanie, with exec producer Josh Safran adding, “It’s definitely a Pippa moment.”

Although photos of Blair on the steps of the St. Regis Hotel leaked during production, Josh and Stephanie are relieved that their biggest secrets remained intact.  In order to not spoil the grand finale of the ceremony, where Blair decides to marry Louis, they decided to send the wedding guests home for the last part of the scene.

“It was simply just them coming back to the altar, and that was done privately without any of the extras there,” revealed Josh, who told us he was terrified spoilers would get out after one particular incident in the church.

“There’s literally hundreds of people in this church and I just watch a script make its way through the extras,” he recalled. “If you could literally have seen my face… I’m like, ‘What’s going on!’ But they were really sweet about it. And you’re excited that they want to know what happens.”

And after the paparazzi narrowly missed Penn Badgley in the runaway car, shots of Blair’s great escape from the St Regis hotel became assumable damage.

“People didn’t know if she was getting married in a church or in a hotel so it worked out fine,” said Stephanie, revealing her favorite moment of the 100th episode was Blair’s heartfelt moment with her two dads.

“It’s emotional and you don’t expect it,” she continued. “Them putting the veil on her is one of my favorite images we’ve ever had. She looks so beautiful and happy and it was amazing to be there that day.”
