While plenty of Hollywood starlets at the 2012 MTV Movie Awards opted for bold colors and sexy dresses — Gossip Girl’s Leighton Meester (Blair) went in the complete opposite direction: simple, casual, and white.

Leighton arrived at the star-studded June 3 event in a white shorts-and-vest combo that, if we’re going to be perfectly honest, is just a little bit boring and blah.

Don’t get us wrong; we love her zany blue Christian Cota top, but it’s the accompanying white shorts and awkwardly-billowing vest that just seem a little dull for such a colorful and fun awards show.

Leighton does manage to pump up the volume on her outfits with some bright coral lipstick and golden Neil Lane jewels. Plus, let’s not forget her peach Jimmy Choo bag and those nude Brian Atwood pumps! But is all of this enough to redeem the outfit? Tell us what you think of Leighton’s 2012 MTV Movie Awards look.
