While we’re more likely to find Leighton Meester on a stage singing her heart out during this Gossip Girl summer hiatus, we’re happy she hasn’t completely abandoned the big screen. And with co-stars like Adam Sandler (The Wedding Singer; Happy Gilmore) and Andy Samberg (Saturday Night Live), how could she?

The That’s My Boy actress gave us a little insight on how it was to make a movie (in theaters June 15) with a couple of the funniest dudes to come out of SNL:

On comparing co-stars Adam Sandler and Andy Samberg’s funny:

“Both of them are pretty bada** when it comes to writing, and improvising, and just being in the moment... hilarious as people as well as professional comedians.”

On meeting Adam Sandler:

“I grew up watching [him] so I felt a little bit intimidated at first, but he makes that go away immediately and is just completely self-deprecating and… it’s just so amazing.”

On her crazy character, Jamie, in That’s My Boy:

“There is nothing sane about my character… I start out as what seems to be kind of an every-girl: she’s getting married, she’s really sweet and innocent — and then she just turns out to be a nut job.”

So... basically, her character is like part Blair Waldorf with a bit of Georgina Sparks? Can’t wait to see that.
