Leighton Meester’s Mom Withdraws Lawsuit! Gossip Girl Star’s Legal Troubles Finally Resolved

Gossip Girl star Leighton Meester (Blair) can breathe a heavy sigh of relief, as it appears the lengthy legal battle between her and her mother, Constance, has finally come to an end, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

In July, Leighton sued Constance in LA Superior Court over $7,500 payments she’d been providing to cover her brother’s medical expenses, which she alleged were being misused by her mother for cosmetic procedures ― Botox, hair extensions, plastic surgery, etc. When Constance countered by claiming $3 million in damages for support owed to her after she’d “sacrificed her happiness” for years in service of Leighton’s career, it embroiled the two in a legal battle. Months later, it’s finally coming to a close... for reasons just as inexplicable as those which began it.

Last month, Constance Meester withdrew her claims and lawsuit against Leighton. Last Wednesday (December 7), a judge ordered the suit stricken, and granted a declaration outlined in the original suit that claims there are officially no contractual obligations between the parties.

So what does that mean? Basically: Leighton is totally in the clear now, and her mother has essentially backed off. While we’re sure the ruling is a relief to all involved, we’re also hoping that all the drama over the past few months can at some point be overcome by the much-beleaguered family...
