East of Eden, this not-quite-a-parody-but-not-at-all-serious film short, tells John Steinbeck’s classic tale of rival twin brothers Caleb and Aron Trask — a literary duo who take different paths in life, but are filled with the same grand angst. But forget Steinbeck’s somber prose, here the novel is told in five minutes in a way that’s both surprisingly funny and impressively well-made — thanks to producer Zachary Quinto.
Whether or not you know the source material, this is a guaranteed LOL — and you might be surprised at Penn’s comedic chops!
