Photo: An anonymous Gossip Girl blast starts a very damaging rumor about one of Columbia's new students, Serena. On her path to greatness, Blair decides to take a class with a powerful businesswoman, Martha, who is guest-lecturing at Columbia, but a mysterious fellow student thwarts her plans to secure the prized position as Martha’s assistant.
Who’s clean? Who’s dirty? Who needs to get tested? The Gossip Girl crew were practically a health class film strip this week. Are all your shots up to date? Then let’s proceed...
Blair has decided that her life is not complete unless she can gain an assistantship for some fancy-pants new Columbia professor (who teaches the “psychology of business” — doesn’t sound that fancy to us, but whatevs). Bedecked with fresh minions, she ought to be a shoo-in. Except remember last week, when a heartbroken Chuck vowed to crush her every chance at happiness under the Bass boot? Yeah, he remembers that too. Chuck shows up at Columbia and snags the internship from under Blair (and snags one of her minions too! Is nothing sacred?). Chuck and Blair soon escalate to full-scale war over the internship — until the poor befuddled academic overhears them feuding over who gets to blackmail her first and wisely elects to leave Columbia altogether. However, B soon learns that Chuck has only begun to fight — at the end he places a call to one Mr. Tim Gunn to get an interview for Miss Jenny Humphrey.

Photo: Living together and can still stand each other? Well, color us pleasantly surprised!
Serena’s dear old college days are off to a rocky start. She can’t seem to make it to class on time, which she blames on an obnoxious but handsome neighbor who keeps stealing her cabs for his one-night stands. And to make matters worse, Gossip Girl spreads a rumor (courtesy of Juliet, obvs), that S has venereal disease. Although she’s clean, Nate goes to the student clinic to pacify Juliet, with Dan along for moral support (is that something guys do for each other?) and both dudes are shown in the clinic by Gossip Girl. S hits the roof because she thinks Nate doesn’t trust her, Vanessa hits the roof because she thinks Dan lied about not sleeping with Serena, and Juliet sits back and watches the carnage.

Photo: She may be a manipulative, conniving basket case — but the Louboutin booties are flawless.
Juliet plays on Vanessa’s insecurities like a concert violinist, persuading her to steal Serena’s phone so she can dig for clues about her history with Dan. But of course, Big J has a broader agenda — she uses Serena’s stolen phone to send an email to Serena’s professor, offering sex for grades. When Vanessa threatens to clear Serena’s name at Juliet’s expense, Juliet manages to pin the whole thing on Vanessa instead. Juliet doesn’t quite get S expelled like she wanted, but she does break Dan and Vanessa up, paints Vanessa as a scheming wench, and gets in Serena’s good graces. All without implicating innocent Nate in her plotting. Which is lucky for her, because however she may deny it to her jailbird bro, Juliet is clearly falling for Nate.
Serena ends the episode drinking alone at a bar — and who should join her but that annoying, cab-stealing, dreamy neighbor of hers. S, do us a favor and make sure he’s not an elected official before you make a move.
