Oddly enough, Gossip Girl Season 5, Episode 6: “I Am Number Nine” was more about deflating tension than ramping it up. Louis finds the paternity test? Turns out he really is the daddy after all. Chuck's (Ed Westwick) therapist attempts to turn him into a ticking time bomb? He doesn't rise to the bait. Nate gets (Chace Crawford) involved in a dirty secret fling? It goes public with seemingly no consequences whatsoever. So no true OMGs this week, but here are a few moments that at least made us go "Huh."

Good for Chuckles for moving on! Not so good for him for throwing Blair's (Leighton Meester) ring on the street. If he didn't want it to make it back into Harry Winston's hands, he should have given it away to someone less fortunate. Like, say, a deserving Wetpaint Entertainment writer. (Chuck Bass is a real person, right? The same way that Gossip Girl is a documentary of life on the Upper East Side? Right ... that's what we thought.)

Tick, tick, BOOM! Louis tries to set Chuck off

Silly Prince Louis (Hugo Becker). You and your Blair drama! Everyone knows that the real way to send Chuck off the deep end is to involve his dead daddy or his abandoning mama. Actually — given Chuck’s odd reaction to Diana Payne (Elizabeth Hurley) — that doesn’t seem entirely out of the question. She's clearly some sort of stealth Bass.

Lonely Boy gets Zuckerberged!

Aw, poor Dan (Penn Badgley). Your hit book is getting made into a prestigious movie that doesn't paint you as a paragon of awesomeness? Talk about white boy problems.

They were both trying to play Diana, but we think they ended up playing themselves – that kiss looked pretty genuine. Narlie, here we come!

Chuck apologizes to Blair

Is this the first honest-to-God Chair moment of the season? From the look on Blair's face, she certainly thought so. But what do you think: Will Chuck and Blair ever truly have a chance?
