We would like to start off with a joke about how hard it is to fill Carrie Bradshaw’s Manolo Blahniks.

But we won’t. You’re welcome. On with it, then.

Sarah Jessica Parker’s Sex and The City protagonist, Carrie Bradshaw, is one of the most iconic characters of the 21st century. So, it’s just a tiny bit of pressure to reprise the role, wouldn’t you agree? Well, darling blondie AnnaSophia Robb isn’t afraid of the challenge.

“It’s a wonderful role for me, and I feel so honored to be able to play a young Carrie,” the 18-year-old tells Life & Style. She will play the 1980s version of the soon-to-be fabulous Carrie.

Candace Bushnell, who penned the novel that started the movement, says that AnnaSophia has “done the role beautifully.” She also tells Wetpaint Entertainment exclusively that “viewers will fall in love with her the same way they fell in love with Sarah Jessica Parker.”

So, what does SJP think of all this? All good things, as it turns out. “She sent me a really lovely note of encouragement,” AnnaSophia tells L&S, “just congratulating me, giving me her approval. It was very sweet of her, and I did not expect that at all.”

That’s a sweet stamp, but we got to wondering: when it comes to breakout roles on the small screen, can you make a life from someone else’s memory?
