The best part of being famous, in our opinion? The red carpet runway. While other children slept with images of sheep running through their heads, we were alphabetically reciting designers (Alaia, Armani, Balmain...).

But some stars get to the limelight without Vogue ink-smudged chins, needing a little help dressing up for the big events. Leighton Meester (Blair Waldorf) is one of those ladies who knows that her greatest strength lays more in onscreen bullying than off-screen buying. So, where did she get her edgy red carpet style?

Turns out the haute actress got a little help from a friend. Stylist Logan Horne tells Huffington Post that back in the day when Gossip Girl was taking over our living rooms (about five years ago), Logan was just getting into the NYC scene.

We were all 21, we had all decamped from L.A. to New York so we formed strong bonds,” he says of the beginning of his friendship with the GG crew. “ Leighton Meester and I became good friends, and I began to send her dresses from Nina Ricci to wear on the red carpet. That was my breakout moment; it was a pivotal point in both of our careers. Leighton was very open to fashion, and trusted my adventurous instincts.”

We are constantly surprised by the starlet’s red carpet looks, and it’s no accident. “Rather than dress her like a typical 'celebrity' in a floor-length red carpet gown, we took chances together and developed her look as if we were dressing for a magazine shoot,” the celebrity stylist reveals. “Her fashion-forward style turned heads in the industry and she instantly became an 'It' girl."

Eleanor Waldorf would be proud.
