Amazing but true: the moment he emerged from the womb, Chace Crawford did not realize he was destined for stardom. What’s up with that? How could someone be THAT handsome and not know? Maybe it’s the Texas thing. He grew up in Plano—where his first name was originally Christopher. (Chace is his middle name.) His father is a dermatologist, and his mother a teacher. He has a younger sister who is no slouch in the looks department either; she was Miss Missouri USA in 2008. Crawford lived in Minnesota after high school and then attended Pepperdine University in California, where he struggled to focus on a career path. His mother encouraged him to try acting. Unlike most of his fellow thespians, Crawford did not spend years as a starving waiter/actor. He was signed by the first agent he approached. Jobs followed. The glow from his Gossip Girl success led to his being named “Hottest Bachelor” by People, and to such high-profile film work as a remake of Footloose (he’s reprising the Kevin Bacon role) and Twelve, Joel Schumacher’s new movie in which he plays a college drug dealer. Crawford has been linked to various women, including Twilight star Ashley Greene.
