John Shea is an Emmy Award–winning actor and director who has starred on stage and in television and film. He studied acting and directing at the Yale School of Drama, earning an MFA in Directing in 1973. During his time at Yale, he performed at the Yale Repertory Theatre. John made his Broadway debut at the age of twenty-six in a production of Yentl. While he boasts a diverse acting resume, he is best known for his recurring role as the evil Lex Luthor in the TV series Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman. His Gossip Girl character (Harold Waldorf) is infinitely nicer than Lex, though Harold did leave his wife and daughter to run off with a male model. Naughty, naughty. In real life, John has been married twice. He has one son from his first marriage, and two from his second, which is still going strong.
