Throughout this episode we get flashbacks to 1983, when a seventeen-year-old Lily is newly arrived in L.A. after being kicked out of boarding school. She meets up with her parents, Rick and CeCe, and gets in trouble with her sister, Carol. Jump forward to 2009: Serena is still in jail, CeCe and Lily have a run-in, and Rufus abandons his plans to propose. Blair and Nate go to a prom together, but the night doesn't turn out quite as planned—is Chuck meddling? Back in 1983, we see No Doubt perform at a house party as an '80s band named "Snowed Out." Okaaay. Is this a blatant attempt to set the stage for a spin-off set in '80s L.A.?
