The biggest night in music is nearly upon us, as the 2014 Grammy Awards are set to air this Sunday, January 26, at 8 p.m. ET on CBS.
So what can you expect from the big show? The First Couple of hip-hop — Jay Z and Beyonce — will take the stage together at the 56th Grammy Awards, along with alternative teen sensation Lorde (who may be performing with her idol Madonna), hitmaker Pharrell Williams (who will be performing with Daft Punk and Stevie Wonder), pop phenoms Katy Perry and Taylor Swift, and legends Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr (yep, the surviving Beatles are performing together!).
Best New Artist nominee Kendrick Lamar will make his Grammy debut, after receiving seven nominations stemming from his debut studio album, Good Kid, M.A.A.D City. His nominations for the night include Best New Artist, Album Of The Year, Best Rap Album for Good Kid, M.A.A.D City, Best R&B Performance for "How Many Drinks?" featuring Miguel, Best Rap Performance for "Swimming Pools (Drank)," Best Rap/Sung Collaboration for "Now Or Never" featuring Mary J. Blige and Best Rap Song for "F-----' Problems" featuring Tauheed Epps, Aubrey Graham, Rakim Mayers & Noah Shebib.
But, all eyes are on Seattle rapper Macklemore and his producing partner Ryan Lewis, who will also take the Grammy stage for the first time Sunday night. The duo’s debut album The Heist earned them seven nominations, including Album of the Year and Song of the Year for the emotional track "Same Love" featuring Mary Lambert.
You can also expect performances from Bruno Mars, Sara Bareilles and Carole King, Hunter Hayes, Keith Urban, Kacey Musgraves, John Legend, Robin Thicke and Chicago, Imagine Dragons, and Pink and Nate Ruess. Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl will be closing out the night with a rock supergroup, featuring Nine Inch Nails, Queens of the Stone Age, and Lindsey Buckingham of Fleetwood Mac.
Sounds like an epic night you do not want to miss! Catch the 2014 Grammys at 8 p.m. ET on CBS. What are you most looking forward to? Sound off in the comments!
