Now that the last episode of Season 8 has aired, we’ve only got a week to wait until The Real Housewives of Orange County reunion drama! And this year, we’ll be treated to a three-part reunion special for the first time ever. Part one airs on Bravo on August 12, with the next two parts coming in the following weeks.
Gretchen Rossi talked to ABC News Radio about her non-traditional engagement to Slade Smiley, dished about her ex-BFF Tamra, and revealed a few things that happened at the taping of the reunion special.
When asked about her surprise proposal, Gretchen said, "I'm not a very traditional girl. I kind of do everything outside of the box to begin with. I tried the traditional way... being the stay-at-home wife and all the things that came along with it. And guess what? It didn't work out for me.”
But castmate Tamra Barney has a different view. The newly-married blonde has been claiming that Gretchen only proposed to Slade to create a storyline for herself on this season of the reality drama. Interesting, since Tamra and Eddie’s wedding is actually the subject of their upcoming RHOC spin-off, Tamra’s OC Wedding!
"It's very hurtful and it's coming from one of my other cast members. And I think it's ironic that it's coming from the cast member that just recently got married on TV and got her own spin-off." Props to using Vicki’s word of choice, instead of your usual choice of “hypocritical.”
But what about the reunion? Rossi told ABC News that Vicki Gunvalson walks off the set first: “It's always going to be Vicki; everytime, without fail. Vicki always wants to get up and leave...”
Even though she presented proof of her Malibu County offer on the show (which wasn’t aired), at the reunion the ladies are still accusing her of lying.
Gretchen explained, "I have the voicemail. We actually play it at the reunion for all of the women to hear." Good thing Gretchen saves her voicemails!
