Fans of The Real Housewives of Orange County were either horrified or thrilled when Gretchen Rossi was fired from the reality show after Season 8. The blonde bombshell joined the series way back in Season 4, so it was hard to say goodbye.

Wetpaint Entertainment recently caught up with Gretchen and Slade at the premiere party for Marriage Boot Camp and we got the scoop on her life post-RHOC, as well as whether or not she’d ever return to the Bravo series.

“You know what, never say never,” Gretchen told us. “The show became a little too negative and too toxic for me. But, if certain things change, you never say never.”

Slade went on to call the series a “tired format,” but Gretchen seems to be at ease with leaving the show, saying the show didn’t align with the direction she wants to take her life nowadays.

“I’m just to the point where I want to empower women, and the vision that Housewives had was not on that same path, so I’m looking forward to living happy and living a different life than what was portrayed on Housewives,” Gretchen said. “I’m just excited about the next chapter of my life.”

So why did Gretchen and Slade decide to air out their dirty laundry on yet another reality series, especially one that is focused so much on their relationship?

“When we turned the page with Housewives, we really wanted to go to a place where we could learn and grow — whether that was TV or not, we had no idea,” Gretchen continued. “So when WE tv came to us, we saw it as an opportunity to grow in our relationship. No relationship is perfect, and we had some issues that we wanted to address that a lot of people had seen on Housewives — but they didn’t get to see the real picture. We saw it as an opportunity to maybe dispel some of the rumors of what people had thought and assumed about who he was as a person, who I was as a person, and, in the process, if we can help people because we share our story, great!”

We’ll have to keep on watching this celebrity duo on Marriage Boot Camp and cross our fingers that there’s a chance they’ll return to RHOC sometime in the future.
