Grey’s Anatomy’s Kevin McKidd: Owen and Amelia’s Future Is “Not Looking Good”
Just after they exchanged vows, they realized they had a major point of contention. He wants kids, she doesn’t — at least, not anymore.
And actor Kevin McKidd is worried for the couple...
The docs finally spoke to one another in the episode last night, March 9, and Amelia told her husband she wants to stay married but she’s not prepared to confront their conflict.
In other words, it wasn’t the weighty conversation they so desperately need.
“It’s a hard one because she’s got all these demons. He does too,” Kevin tells E! News.
“And now they’ve hit against this big issue of the baby.
“Owen has always imagined having a family, and now she seems to be changing her view on that. So that’s going to be a big issue for them.”
“I’ll be interested to see what happens, but, at the moment, it’s not looking good. I have to say, it’s not looking good,” the 43-year-old adds.
“But sometimes that’s what’s so interesting about the show and I think what’s clever about the show is that it looks like the story’s pulling you in one direction, and one thing will happen and it will change everything.”
Still, the Scotsman is shipping Owen and Amelia as hard as any of us, and he thinks it’ll be the latter character who pulls the relationship through.
“I’ve got a feeling that Amelia’s going to sort of come to Owen’s rescue somehow,” he says.
“I don’t know why I think that. It’s just a gut feeling I have.”
Owen’s other major storyline this season involved his memories of his missing sister, Megan, whom we finally met in flashback-like visions in that polarizing November 10 episode.
Could she return after all these years of being MIA? Kevin’s not ruling it out!
“I can’t [comment],” the actor says.
“Listen, on any ABC Shondaland show, there’s always a maybe to everything. Anything can happen.
“I’ve got to say, the actress who played her in the flashback episode [Bridget Regan] is brilliant, and we had great chemistry and we got along really well.
“So, if that happened, I’d be very delighted about it.”
If Megan Hunt does resurface, only time will tell whether she’ll have a sister-in-law to meet…
