Grey’s Anatomy Picked Up For Season 8

While not entirely shocking, a breath of relief for Grey's Anatomy fans came this morning with the news that the series will be picked up for an eighth season. After being resurrected from the dregs of a three-season-slump, this season's hospital shooting story line shot Grey's back up to TV's #1 Drama among the coveted 18-49 age demographic.

Of course, some of the key actors' contracts expire after Season 8 (eg., Ellen Pompeo, the title character, and Patrick Dempsey). Not to get too far ahead of ourselves, especially considering Season 7 just returned from hiatus with a bang, but we're sure Season 8 will be quite the roller coaster in terms of keeping us guessing about whether or not our favorite docs will be coming back.
