It's hard to believe, but Grey's Anatomy Season 9 comes to an end with next week's finale, Season 9, Episode 24: "Perfect Storm" (May 16). What happens when the season comes to a close? A new preview gives us a first look, and it's all about Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) and Derek's (Patrick Dempsey) baby.
And the news? It's not good. At the end of Season 9, Episode 23: "Readiness Is All" Meredith went into labor. Earlier in the episode she'd been assured her baby was a-OK even after she took a tumble down the stairs, but this promo makes it seem like that's not so.
She needs a C-section, but because the power is going out that might not be possible. And the fact that she does need a C-section implies something has gone pretty wrong with the birth. Based on the preview she does give birth to the baby ... but he's not crying.
Could the MerDer baby really die? Here's the full synopsis of the episode:
Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital enters crisis mode as the storm rages, resources become scarce and patients flood in by the busload. Meanwhile, one of the doctors fights for their life.
