Grey’s Anatomy creator Shonda Rhimes is notorious for killing off beloved characters, so when she tweeted about being “in mourning” yesterday, we immediately freaked out. With the crazy Season 9 finale only a few days away — in which someone is “fighting for their life” — we’re understandably nervous about who could die, especially with Meredith giving birth.

However, this message wasn’t about one of her shows — phew! Shonda affirmed that she needs to be our BFF by tweeting, “I'm in mourning about Happy Endings. For real.”

For a bit of backstory, Happy Endings was an amazing ABC comedy surrounding a wacky group of friends, and it was sadly canceled after three seasons last week. There are talks of it being picked up by USA (à la TBS and Cougar Town) but no confirmation of that yet.

But hey, with Shonda as one of the show’s biggest fans, maybe that will be a determining factor for a new network. However, considering that she brings in 5 percent of ABC’s viewership — with Grey’s, Scandal, and previously Private Practice — and still didn’t have enough pull to save the show? Maybe not.

Until then, feel free to hashtag #SaveHappyEndings on Twitter — it will bring you closer to Shonda. And if you’re not familiar with Happy Endings, check out the GIF set below. It’s all you need to know:
