If you happened to be on any form of social media last night (June 2), then you probably noticed people talking (or screaming) about HBO’s Game of Thrones. One of those people happened to be Grey’s Anatomy Jason Winston George (aka Bailey’s hot hubby, Ben).
We already knew about creator Shonda Rhimes is obsession, but it was Jason who tweeted his distressed GoT feelings pertaining to the infamous Red Wedding — and boy, did he have a lot of them! He wrote:
When Wetpaint Entertainment chatted with Jason about his sexy new summer series, Mistresses (premiering June 3, 2013 on ABC), he revealed his “list of people who need to die” on Game of Thrones.
“It’s actually a pretty short list,” he said. “It’s Joffrey [Baratheon] and that old man [Walder Frey]. When [Catelyn] went after the wife, I was like, ‘Don’t go after the wife! Get the dude! Get the old man! Kill him! He needs to be dead!’”
It’s common for fans of the popular HBO series to get wrapped up in the drama, but for Jason, this is relatively new phenomenon for him. “I don’t talk to television screens. This is what I do for a living. I’m not that guy,” he told us. “But last night’s episode had me talking to my television screen, praying that fictional people would die in horrific ways. It doesn’t make any sense. It’s ridiculous. [My obsession] is off the chain.”
However, just because this Grey’s star admits to having a huge GoT obsession, doesn’t mean you can go tweeting him spoilers, book readers. Jason told Wetpaint he hasn’t read George R.R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire series, but he still has a few theories about our favorite characters, most notably, Arya Stark.
“I have not read the books, but I am aware of two things: I do believe [Arya] is going to put swords through eyes, as she claims. It’s going to happen. She’s going to be ridiculous somewhere down the line; and the uncle, who got up to go butter a tree, as he said, didn’t get killed, so who knows what will happen there.”
