Recently, Food Network star and all-around butter lover Paula Deen got into a sticky situation when she admitted in court to using the
N-word to employees at her restaurant. Consequently, she was fired from her network, dropped from a ham endorsement deal, and reportedly also terminated from QVC.
This morning, she had an intense interview with Matt Lauer on The Today Show, but before that, she was criticized by two familiar faces on Twitter: Grey’s Anatomy star Ellen Pompeo and Scandal’s Dan Bucatinsky.
Late last night, Dan tweeted a link to a New York Daily News article about Paula reportedly hiring a high-profile PR rep to help her through the controversy, and he said, “Paula needs Olivia Pope behind the scenes... and James Novak to talk to on camera...” There’s no denying the gladiators would handle it.
That wasn’t super critical (if anything, it was just accurate), but Ellen’s response definitely was. “@danbucatinsky does Olivia Pope have souls for sale? Deen could use one,” she tweeted. Whoa, now! There’s no denying that Paula needs some help, but which star do you agree with? Sound off below.
