Paula Deen’s N-word controversy is handled. Real-life Gladiator Judy Smith, who inspired Scandal “fixer” Olivia Pope, has reportedly been hired by the former Food Network personality to keep all of her endorsement deals from slipping away.

According to Us Weekly, the celebrity chef has been “making desperate calls to crisis PR firms” after simultaneously being dropped by Food Network and Smithfield hams, and possibly losing her QVC deal, too. In the end, the source says Paula went with Judy, the 54-year-old Washington, D.C.-based crisis management expert who “fixed” Monica Lewinsky and Michael Vick’s cases and inspired Shonda Rhimes to create her hit ABC series, Scandal.

After Paula’s tearful and intense appearance on The Today Show this morning — in which she encouraged critics to throw a boulder at her head and kill her if they had never said something they regretted — we’re not surprised that she’s ready to put this behind her. If anyone can help her, it’s Judy. Though we haven’t seen her in action, based on the crazy situations Olivia Pope fixes on Scandal, Paula is in good hands.

Coincidentally, late last night, Scandal star Dan Bucatinsky suggested that Olivia help her behind-the-scenes and his character, James, talk to her on-camera. Meanwhile, Grey’s Anatomy’s Ellen Pompeo quipped that Paula needed someone to give her a soul. Ouch.

Do you think Judy will be able to “fix” Paula’s situation? Sound off below!
