Grey's Anatomy creator Shonda Rhimes is unstoppable. The TV goddess — whose magic has kept Grey's popular for nine seasons and transformed Scandal into a bonafide hit last season — has another project in the works at ABC.

Deadline Hollywood reports ABC has picked up Lawless, a new project that Shonda Rhimes' company, Shondaland, is producing. Shonda is an executive producer on the show, which is written by Mistresses developer and executive producer KJ Steinberg.

The show is about Joanna James, "a maverick lawyer who returns to her hometown to right the wrongs she left behind." It's actually based on a true story, and sounds like exactly the kind of thing Shonda would throw her weight behind.

This isn't the first time KJ Steinberg and Shonda have teamed up — they also worked on Gilded Lilys, a period piece that made it to the pilot stage, but didn't get picked up. Hopefully Lawless will fare even better! It's one of the earliest buys of this development season, so clearly the bigwigs at ABC see potential in it.

Does Lawless sound like something you'd be interested in, or do you only care about Shondaland projects Shonda Rhimes writes as well as produces? Sound off in the comments below!
