Throughout Grey’s Anatomy’s nine seasons, we’ve seen a lot of interesting characters and perplexing patients, and it looks like Season 10 is no exception. According to TVLine, there’s a character set for a five-episode arc that will be likable, yet won’t be an easy case.

The site reports that the newest patient, Bill, is a “likable jazz musician in his 50s who has been ‘somewhat ravaged by drug abuse’ and will appear in roughly five episodes. No other information (including casting) has been released yet, but given the prior addicts we’ve seen on Grey’s, it’s never an easy road for the docs.

This intel comes on the heels of big news about the premiere, which consulting producer Dan Bucatinsky teased is “dramatic, emotional, and exciting.” It will also see MerDer dealing with the “aftermath” of her “rough birth,” which will hopefully be more happy than nerve-racking for them (and us).

Surprisingly, this casting news came from a fan question about Cristina and Owen. While the site had “no news” about Crowen, we hold out hope that they will reconcile, at least as friends, this season.

Catch the Grey’s Anatomy premiere on Thursday, September 26, 2013 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
