It’s been nearly four years since Katherine Heigl donned scrubs on Grey’s Anatomy, but she may be suiting up again on TV. However, this won’t be a white coat — unless you count a blazer and pantsuit. According to Deadline, the former doc is eyeing a return to television with a CIA drama.

This would be Katherine’s first foray into TV since her dramatic exit from Grey’s, and the new project (first reported by USA Today) is reportedly being shopped around to broadcast and cable networks — particularly NBC. The procedural was penned by The Following’s supervising producer Alexi Hawley and “focuses on how the CIA handles hotspots around the globe, with Heigl playing an adviser/communications liaison for the U.S. president.” This is definitely not a rom-com.

In addition to potentially starring, Katherine and her mother (and manager) Nancy Heigl are executive producing. They, along with a team of senior CIA officials, Alexi, and producer Robert Simonds are developing the ins and outs, though one thing apparently confirmed is that it will not be on ABC.

This is certainly a splashy way to return to TV. Would you watch Katherine’s new drama? Sound off below!
