ABC should just rename itself SRC: The Shonda Rhimes Channel.

OK, that might be a bit of a stretch, but the Shondster is practically the Alphabet Network's best friend.

ABC just bought a comedy project from her company, Shondaland, written by two Cougar Town producers, Christine Pietrosh and Jessica Goldstein. Shonda and her producing partner, Betsy Beers, will serve as executive producers.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the as-of-yet unnamed show "revolves around a group of friends who are brought together after an unexpected turn of events." (Vague enough for you?)

As the outlet notes, this is the third project ABC has bought from Shondaland so far for the 2014-2015 season, the other two being a cop drama from the creator of Made in Jersey and a "maverick" lawyer tale named Lawless.

Shonda and Co. have also produced exotic medical drama Off the Map, which lasted one season on ABC, and newsroom-based Inside the Box and period piece Gilded Lilys, which the network ultimately passed on.

Here's hoping this new comedy is another hit for our beloved Grey's mastermind!
