Sandra Oh is leaving Grey's Anatomy, but she'll always take with her memories of her time as Cristina Yang on the show , which she considers to be her creative high.
Talking to The Hollywood Reporter, the 42-year-old says that working with Kevin McKidd (Owen Hunt) — whom she calls the "greatest acting partner you could ever ask for" — took her to a whole new level of enlightenment as an actor.
"You're not acting, you are in a state of being and you actually are the character," she says. "To actually get to the point in my career where you can experience that was the highlight of my career.”
Kevin, meanwhile, couldn't speak highly enough of his on-screen lover, telling the site:
"I feel so blessed and grateful to have been given the chance to work with her. When I joined the show in Season 5, she was so welcoming and nurturing to me as a new actor on the show — something I will never forget and be always thankful for."
Kevin even credited Sandra for helping to improve his own work.
"Getting to act with her every day has made me a better actor, and getting to know her has made me a better person,” he said. “I wish her every good wish in the world and will miss her at work a huge amount, but I feel happy to know that she is moving on to new adventures and roles to explore."
