Addison is returning to New York City… in a sense!

Kate Walsh — who played our fave redheaded neonatal surgeon on two seasons of Grey's Anatomy and six of Private Practice will star in Staten Island Summer, touts The Hollywood Reporter.

The film — a comedy written by Saturday Night Live head writer Colin Jost and produced by SNL creator Lorne Michaels — tells the story of Danny (The Good Wife's Graham Phillips) and Frank (The Inbetweeners' Zack Pearlman), two high school grads and poolside lifeguards who face dramatically different futures.

Kate will play Danny's mother, with comedian (and fellow redhead) Jim Gaffigan as the pops.

It's not the first time the 45-year-old has played a mom in a coming-of-age film. She was also the main character's mama in The Perks of Being a Wallflower.

We just hope this exciting new film role doesn't take up too much of Kate's time — Grey's creator Shonda Rhimes wants Addison back for Season 10!
