UPDATE: Shonda Rhimes did not, in fact, adopt! She wrote on WhoSay that a gestational surrogate carried the little babe!

UPDATE: We now know the name of Grey's Anatomy creator Shonda Rhimes's third baby! But the big reveal might have been on accident.

Scandal star Dan Bucatinsky tells Us Weekly that he's thrilled for Shonda, who recently adopted a baby girl. And then he dropped the baby's name.

"Beckett is adorable," Dan said on September 19. "I saw pictures, and I'm really excited for her." Oops!

Congrats to Shonda and Beckett!

Original story: Life imitates art? Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo) just welcomed a baby into her life on Grey's Anatomy, and now so has Shonda Rhimes, the show's creator.

The veteran showrunner announced the joyous news of her third adoption on Twitter.

"Been AWOL from Twitter. I totally have a good reason: Tiny Human #3 is here, and she's perfect!  Babies are good.  Life is good."

"Tiny humans," by the way, is a catchphrase Shonda coined for pediatric surgeon Arizona Robbins (Jessica Capshaw).

Adopting a baby was at the very top of the bucket list Shonda wrote in the days following 9/11. She did just that nine months later, adopting her daughter Harper in June 2002. Nearly a decade later, in February 2012, she adopted another girl, Emerson. And now she has a third child.

Shonda added the hashtag "#2shows3kids" to her tweet, and her colleagues from those "2 shows" — Grey's Anatomy and Scandal — retweeted the news and chimed in with their own congratulations.

"WOOHOO!" wrote Sara Ramirez (Callie Torres).

"You rock!" added Scandal star Kerry Washington (Olivia Pope).

"Hope she's fat and smushy!" quipped Kerry's Emmy-winning co-star Dan Bucatinsky (James Novak).

What's even more impressive is that Shonda is running two shows — and producing what seems like countless pilots — while raising three children as, by all reports, a single mother.

You really do rock, Shonda!

Comment below with your own congratulations for the mega-productive producer!
