Update (10/3/13): In case you missed it, Shonda Rhimes & Co. have spilled many more beans about the landmark episode. Jackson's "rash promise" mentioned below is that he'll give the surgeon who rakes in the biggest donation a cut of the profit for his or her department. Meredith's gonna wear a sexy Gucci dress to solicit donations, while Cristina does the trick with liquor. Oh, and there's some sort of medical emergency at the gala which lures Mer back into the OR. Can't wait! In the meantime, bone up on more scoop about Episode #200!

Original story (9/24/13): Grey's Anatomy Season 10, Episode 4 — titled "Puttin' on the Ritz" — is a huge milestone for the hit medical drama: the 200th episode! We knew that it would have easter eggs for longtime Grey's fansand a very-much alive Richard (James Pickens Jr.) — but now we have the official synopsis from ABC:

“The doctors of Grey Sloan Memorial throw a fundraising gala which turns wildly competitive after Jackson [Jesse Williams] makes a rash promise. Back at the hospital, Bailey's [Chandra Wilson] patience is tested when she has to deal with several extremely difficult patients. Meanwhile, Shane [Gaius Charles] and Stephanie [Jerrika Hinton] handle an incredibly busy ER by themselves, and Alex [Justin Chambers] reveals an emotional secret to Jo.”

The episode is written by Austin Guzman and directed by Rob Corn. Austin has penned seven episodes so far — the last one being "This Is Why We Fight," which included Catherine Avery's now-immortal quote: "Now, give your mama a kiss, Jackson. She just bought you a hospital."

In addition to exec-producing the series, Rob has has helmed 27 episodes — including every season finale since 2007 — so it's only fitting that he should be tapped for this landmark installment.

That episode airs October 10 — but in the meantime, we have the two-hour Season 10 premiere this Thursday, September 26, at 9 p.m. ET on ABC.
