If you just can't wait five hours for the Grey's Anatomy Season 10 premiere to begin — which is even further away for those of you on the West Coast — we have another sneak peek of new season's high-stakes drama.

In the new clip, Alex (Justin Chambers) busts into Meredith's (Ellen Pompeo) hospital room where she's convalescing.

"We need blood, Mer," he says breathlessly. "I need all the O-Neg I can get."

"OK, but wait," Mer interjects. "Tell me what's going on."

But Alex is much too concerned by how understaffed Grey Sloan Memorial… so Mer devises a plan.

"Alex, pick up the baby," she urges.

He says he doesn't have time, probably thinking that bedridden Mer just needs someone to shuttle her newborn from the bassinet to her.

So Mer gets more insistent. "Alex!" she demands. "Pick up my baby!"

He reluctantly fetches little Jared Shepherd and presents him to her, but she doesn't receive her new son.

"No, the baby is for you so that you can stop freaking out," she says.

Alex cuddles the little guy and visibly de-stresses. (We all know how good he is with tiny humans!)

"Now just relax," Mer soothes, "and tell me what's going on."

Genius, right?

Are you excited for Season 10 to kicks off tonight, September 26, at 9 p.m. ET — or super-duper excited? Give us a reading of your anticipation below!
