Shonda Rhimes isn't one to shy away from the harsh realities of relationships, as any Grey's Anatomy fan is painfully aware. Outsiders may think this show is all over the top hospital shootings and deadly plane crashes, but fans know that some of the most poignant Grey's moments come from grounded relationship problems.

So far, the Callie (Sara Ramirez) and Arizona (Jessica Capshaw) fans are suffering the most this season. (Yes, Owen and Cristina are even more dunzo, but the writing's been on the wall for that one for long enough that we're just resigned to it). Clearly, watching Callie act so cruelly towards Arizona because of her own pain isn't fun, but is it at least compelling?

This Season 10 storyline may hurt our hearts, but it's certainly giving Sara Ramirez and Jessica Capshaw loads of juicy material to work with, and we have a hard time finding fault with that. Plus, given that Shonda and co. decided to go in the cheating direction, we're glad the writers are allowing the full impact of that to be felt. As much as we want it, Callie forgiving Arizona immediately would be out of character. We appreciate that Grey's knows when to take the long road to a happy ending (and yes, we're clinging to the hope that there is a happy ending for Calzon down the line).

What do you think? Does the Callie and Arizona cheating plotline make for compelling TV, or is it overwrought and painful to watch?
