With Sandra Oh departing Grey’s Anatomy at the end of Season 10, it was only a matter of time before divorced couple Cristina Yang and Owen Hunt pulled themselves away from each other — but we didn’t expect them to move on so soon.

Now that their breakup sex has halted — after a few “last times” together — and they’re cautiously trying to be friends, we’ll see both parties testing the waters in the dating pool.

Show boss Shonda Rhimes tells TV Guide that they "are both seeing what else is out there,” which goes along with what Sandra recently revealed about the couple. She notes that Cristina “gets a glimpse of the impact of her decision” and has to “continue holding fast to that decision and being supportive of each other.”

Owen finds it difficult, too. Portrayer Kevin McKidd noted that he “can’t handle it quite yet,” but he’s trying to be cool instead of showing his reluctance to separate. From the sounds of it, Cristina will be the one reacting strongly in the October 10 episode (the milestone 200th, “Puttin’ On the Ritz”). On the heels of Kevin noting that she’ll react “exactly the opposite way” from what fans would imagine, Shonda tells TV Guide, “I don't know that Cristina's 100 percent ready, but for Owen, the results are surprising,” Shonda adds.

Hmm, so perhaps it will just be Owen moving on and Cristina being left in the dust? We’ll have to wait until tomorrow’s episode to find out, but until then, we have something to make Crowen fans smile. While their characters may be estranged on Grey’s, Sandra and Kevin are closer than ever. Check out two adorable photos — one of him directing her in Season 10, Episode 8, and the other of them hugging — below, and try to forget that they won’t be together after this season.

Do you think Crowen will move on, or are they destined to be together until the end of the season? Sound off below, and catch the 200th episode on Thursday, October 10 at 9 p.m. ET on ABC.
