Callie (Sara Ramirez) and Arizona (Jessica Capshaw) are handling their breakup relatively well on Grey’s Anatomy. Their marriage may be in a shambles, but Callie’s already dancing in her underwear again, and Arizona’s moving on — with stage-five clinger Leah Murphy (Tessa Ferrer).

And now it’s Callie’s turn to move on, and according to what Sara told TVLine, it’s something she’s definitely working on, though it won’t necessarily be easy.

“I think that [Arizona] is the mother of her child, I think that this has been a very difficult process to go through, the process of separation and trying to find yourself again, and what makes you tick, and what you love,” Sara said. “Callie’s been trying to reinvest in herself this season, and allowing Arizona the space to do the work she needs to do to get clear about what she really wants.”

“And in all of that confusion, I think Callie is struggling with that kind of a decision,” Sara continued. “Am I done done, am I not done, am I half done, what am I? So she’s doing the best she can to move through that process. So we’re seeing her sometimes do things like, raise money by saying that her wife is dead.”

And of all the possible people Callie could move on with, Sara thinks she’d still be open to being with a man — her first since Mark Sloan, may his beautiful, beautiful face rest in peace.

“A lot of people don’t understand that sexual orientation is very much defined by who you’re attracted to and who you have romantic feelings for,” Sara said. “Callie has been identified as sexually fluid, and/or bisexual. That means that regardless of what gender she’s in a relationship with, that her sexual orientation will always be identified as bisexual … She will be attracted to both men and women.”

But if Callie’s going to be with a guy, it’s not going to be Owen. If that happened, Sara would be worried about upsetting the Crowen fans. How considerate of her!

When — and if — Callie moves on from Arizona, we wouldn’t be surprised to see her dating someone who’s nothing like her kinda-ex-wife. A man definitely fits that profile. But we’re crossing our fingers that these two crazy kids get it together quickly enough that Callie doesn’t have to move on. We know, we know: creator Shonda Rhimes would never let us off that easy, but we can dream!
