We're glad someone is finally appreciating the lighter side of Kate Walsh! The actress we know best as Addison Forbes Montgomery is coming back to TV to tickle our funny bones — as the star and executive producer of Bad Judge, a pilot NBC is developing for the 2014-2015 season.

We've loved her for years as unlucky-in-love Addison, but that role only afforded flashes of Kate's comedic timing. Now we'll get to see the 46-year-old actress go for laughs full-tilt.

And the sitcom has some big names behind it. Men in Trees' Anne Heche came up with the idea and brought it to Will Ferrell and Adam McKay's production company. (Adam is the writer-director-producer extraordinaire behind many of Will's hits like Anchorman, Talladega Nights, and The Other Guys. He and Will also created the website Funny or Die, on which Kate has starred in a number of hilarious videos.) Anne, Will, and Adam will also exec-produce.

As The Hollywood Reporter touts, Kate will play "a hard-living, sexually unapologetic woman who plays with the law and whose life on the edge is constantly in balance, as she also happens to be a judge in the San Bernardino Criminal Court system."

But Bad Judge might not be the first time we see Kate return to our TV sets. She'll be rocking the drama again in FX's miniseries adaptation of Fargo.

We hope Bad Judge makes it to air — we'd love to see Kate change out of Addison's scrubs and into a judge's robe — and based on that character description, she might even sport some lacy lingerie underneath.
