Why is it that no one on Grey's Anatomy can get hitched without a hitch? Every wedding day on the show thus far has been tense, and April's (Sarah Drew) upcoming nuptials seem to be no exception, as revealed by ABC's synopsis for Season 10, Episode 12 — "Get Up, Stand Up" — airing December 12. Here's what the network has to say about the last episode of the calendar year:

“On the day of April's wedding, the Grey Sloan Memorial doctors are all preoccupied with their own drama. Meredith [Ellen Pompeo] and Cristina [Sandra Oh] continue to argue about their research and careers, Bailey [Chandra Wilson] comes clean to Ben [Jason George] about her feelings regarding him moving back to Seattle, and Shane [Gaius Charles] puts himself in a risky situation. Meanwhile, Derek [Patrick Dempsey] gets a phone call that will change his life, on the winter finale of Grey's Anatomy.”

OK, so April's climactic big day aside, we're racked with worry about this phone call Derek will receive. It sounds ominous, so we're hoping that Zola and baby Bailey aren't in danger. But maybe we're being too pessimistic — maybe Derek will get good news, like, "Your ex-wife is coming back to Seattle!"

OK, that would mostly be good news for us. But what news do you think this phone caller will bear? Speculate away in the comment section below.

Grey's Anatomy airs Thursdays at 9 p.m. ET on ABC.
