Grey’s Anatomy star Jesse Williams called in the babysitter to walk the red carpet at the Golden Globes last night.

Attending the show as cast member of Lee Daniels’ The Butler, the new dad paused from the awards show buzz to talk about his experiences as a father.

The 32-year-old actor welcomed a baby girl, Sadie, back in early December with his Aryn Drake-Lee and while he’s only been a dad for “four or five weeks,” Jesse tells People magazine that fatherhood has been “amazing” so far.

“It’s hard to describe,” he said on the Golden Globes red carpet. “It’s wonderful a new discovery every day. It’s great and I’m loving it.”

Jesse and Aryn met long before his days as Jackson Avery, one of Grey-Sloan Memorial Hospital’s hottest doctors. The duo were introduced when the actor was living in New York City and working as a school teacher. After more than five years together, the couple married in Los Angeles in September 2012, welcoming their first child about a year later.

While Jesse admits that he’s had to sacrifice a few sleepless nights to his bundle of joy, the rings under his eyes have been completely worth it.

“Not getting too much sleep,” he admitted. “I’m just trying to put together three solid hours of cogent communication.”
