Grey’s Anatomy creator Shonda Rhimes is obviously responsible for most of the crazy twists and turns we’ve come to expect from the show, but what happens when an idea for the plot comes from the actors themselves?
“We mostly pitch to Tony Phelan who heads up the writing room,” Sarah told TV Addict. “Shonda and Tony and the whole team have made us all feel incredibly valuable. They are always asking us to bring them ideas. It’s a privilege to be so valued and heard.”
Okay, now we want to know which plot points and character arcs came from the cast, and who the ideas belong to. Maybe we’ve been giving Shonda way too much flack over the years for the things we didn’t like about the show, when really it’s Patrick Dempsey (Derek Shepherd) who has been calling all the shots. Not that we think Patrick’s capable of upsetting us, though. He’s too beautiful.
If only Shonda valued our ideas that much. We’ve got a laundry list of ideas for the show, and it starts with our The Plane Crash Was a Dream 2014 campaign. We’re getting “Bring Back Mark Sloan” t-shirts printed up as we speak.
Wish you could submit your idea for a Grey’s Anatomy plot to the writers?
