Just a couple of weeks from now, we’ll be obsessing over brand new episodes of Grey’s Anatomy — yay! The wait that seemed like it would never be over has almost come to an end, which means the synopsis for the next new episode, Season 10, Episode 13, “Take It Back,” has been released by ABC. And it just so happens to give away the answer to a major question we’ve been asking ourselves since the midseason finale: Does Derek (Patrick Dempsey) take the job from the president or will he stick to his original decision and pass?

Here’s your answer, according to the official synopsis: “Meredith feels betrayed when Derek goes back on a promise.”

The only promise that comes to mind is the one Derek made when he agreed to stand back and take care of the kids while Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) takes the time to shine at work this year. And considering the fact that Meredith’s been working really hard to get her 3D printing project off the ground, we can understand why she would be mad that Derek is going back on his word.

We’d say we didn’t see this coming, but… we totally saw this coming.

Not that we exactly blame Derek. When the president calls you up personally and says, “Hey, man, I heard you were a good surgeon. Will you please work on this brain mapping project I have?” — it’s probably pretty hard to say no. But a promise is a promise.

We know Mer and Der will eventually work this one out, but for now, we won’t be surprised if Meredith holds a grudge for awhile. She is well within her rights to be pissed!

Are you surprised Derek is going to say yes to the president’s offer? Let us know below!
