It’s been four years since we’ve seen Katherine Heigl don her Grey’s Anatomy scrubs as Izzie Stevens on our TV screens, but don’t worry — she’s about to make her big television comeback! With Katherine starring as a CIA analyst on NBC’s recently greenlighted spy drama, State of Affairs, filming is officially underway for the pilot.

And while we don’t have too many details on the new show, we do know that Katherine’s TV fiancé will be played by Mark Tallman, who has had minor roles on daytime soaps and primetime shows like Blue Bloods.

Katherine recently shared a photo she took with Mark while they were on set last week, and the two of them already make an adorable couple. “Had a blast playing this handsome man’s fiancé!” Katherine said. “Not a bad day at work, ladies ;).”

Katherine’s right: Mark is pretty good looking. Of course, he has nothing on her last TV beau — our very own Alex Karev (Justin Chambers). But that’s just our opinion.

Speaking of Alex, now that Katherine’s back in the swing of TV dramas, can we expect to see her on Grey’s again? Not anytime soon. Katherine has recently revealed that she would love to come back and offer more closure for Izzie’s storyline, but creator Shonda Rhimes isn’t sure it’s the right time for her to reappear.

No biggie. State of Affairs should tide us over ‘til a possible Izzie return in the future. Hey, now that Burke (Isaiah Washington) is coming back? Anything’s possible.

Looking forward to seeing Katherine on TV again, or will she always be Izzie to you? Share your thoughts below!
