Ready to see Grey’s Anatomy’s Chandra Wilson in a role other than our beloved sassy general surgeon, Miranda Bailey? So are we, which is why we’re super pumped her movie, Frankie & Alice — which was filmed way back in December 2008 — has finally scored a nationwide release. We already know it's going to be an amazing movie — after its limited release in 2010, the movie scored NAACP Image Awards and even earned Halle a Golden Globe nom.
And now, we get our first look at Chandra in the critically acclaimed film, where plays Maxine, the younger sister to Halle’s character, Frankie, who has dissociative identity disorder.
In the recently released clip, we see Frankie give their mother (Phylicia Rashad) a necklace containing both her and Maxine’s birthstones — much to Maxine’s dismay. How much fun is it to see Chandra in such a radically different setting and time period than the Grey’s set?!
Also, fun fact: Phylicia Rashad isn’t just the artist formerly known as Mrs. Huxtable on The Cosby Show. She’s also sister to another one of the Grey’s cast: Debbie Allen (Catherine Avery)!
