Original story (10:00 a.m.): When it comes to April Fool’s Day pranks, nobody is immune — not even the cast of Grey’s Anatomy. And this year, even Kevin McKidd (Owen Hunt) fell victim to a trick he totally should have seen coming.

As you already know, our boy Kevin is a jack of all trades: Singer, actor, director, and, of course, surfer. But nobody’s perfect, and during a recent day out on the waves with his surf instructor, Kevin managed to get a little injured. Nothing life threatening, as Shonda Rhimes would have it if it had been Owen out there on the surf. Just a “badly bruised intercostal muscle.”

And in English, that means Kevin hurt the chest muscles that hang out between his ribs. You’re welcome.

While Kevin was searching for home remedies, one of the Grey’s crew offered him a suggestion, which he gladly shared on Twitter. “Tammi Ann — our post-production boss — suggested running Absolut Vodka on the bruise — for real!” Kevin tweeted Tuesday. “Anyone heard of that?”

No, no they haven’t — because it’s not a real remedy for muscle pain. Wait, don’t you play a highly played doctor on TV? Oh, you didn’t need to go to med school to do that? Well, that changes everything.

Fortunately, Kevin’s Twitter followers helped him figure out that Tammi Ann was kidding. “Hmm, you’re right. It is April Fool's…” Kevin later added. “Tammi Ann totally got me!”

Vodka on the bruise or not, we’re hoping Kevin feels better soon.

Update (5:40 p.m.): Kevin tweeted us (and a few others) to correct himself. Turns out, he got in touch with Tammi Ann and found out that she wasn't pulling his leg. She says that Absolut really has healing properties!
