There's a good reason Jackson (Jesse Williams) is being excluded from the Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital board meeting shown in this sneak peek for next week's episode of Grey's AnatomySeason 10, Episode 22: "We Are Never Getting Back Together" — the board is contemplating going to bat against his family company, the Harper Avery Foundation.

At the beginning of the scene, Richard (James Pickens Jr.) starts the meeting before Jackson has a chance to get there — and Owen (Kevin McKidd) announces, much to Cristina's (Sandra Oh) surprise, that the Grey Sloan's head of cardiothoracics is leaving the hospital.

"He assured me four times that it had nothing to do with this Harper Avery situation," Owen says.

"Which means it has everything to do with this Harper Avery situation," Richard adds.

Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) informs the unaware members of the board of the situation — the revelation that no one at Grey Sloan will ever get a Harper Avery award because the foundation co-owns the hospital.

"Richard thinks we should appeal," says Owen, referring to the foundation's recent snub of Cristina's worthy research.

For her part, Cristina is reluctant, not wanting to risk further embarrassment.

"This is not about you, Yang," Richard says. "This is about the hospital being able to get money for research and to attract more surgeons. We're already losing top talent."

"What do you think, Yang? You in?"

Will she appeal the foundation's decision or swallow her pride? Let us know your thoughts below.
