One of the biggest Grey’s Anatomy traditions? The Meredith-fueled, introspective voiceover at the beginning and ending of almost every single episode. And while we love Meredith’s occasionally medically-themed words of wisdom, there’s one person who’s not so crazy about them: Ellen Pompeo.

When a Twitter follower asked her earlier this week if she ever hated the sound of her voice recorded on the show, she responded without holding back. “To be honest… always,” Ellen said.

We don’t think Ellen has anything to hate about her voice, but if it were us, we’d totally feel the same way! But we think that applies to everyone. Who doesn’t cringe at the sound of their voice on video? Or hearing the way you sound on the phone by listening to a voicemail you left someone? It’s the worst.

Besides, we couldn’t imagine a Grey’s Anatomy where Meredith doesn’t help us understand the world a little better through her epic voiceovers — or give us awesome quotes to post on Tumblr. Just saying.

In fact, a Grey’s Anatomy without voiceovers would be like a Grey’s Anatomy without Cristina Yangoh wait. If you need us, we’ll be sobbing into our DVD boxed sets.

Do you think you’d feel the same way about your voice if you were in Ellen’s shoes?
