Bet you didn't know that after leaving Seattle Grace, Isobel Stevens became a totally kickass spy!

Yeah, we know — Katherine Heigl is actually playing a different character in NBC's new show State of Affairs, but could you blame us for wanting better closure for Izzie?

Indeed, as the brand new trailer below proves, State of Affairs takes the Grey's Anatomy actress about as far as she can get from an O.R.  Instead, her character, Charleston "Charlie" Tucker, is a CIA attaché who briefs the President (Alfre Woodard) on the nation's top threats every morning.

And Charlie's personal stakes are set up early in the trailer: She and the President both survived an attack that killed Charlie's fiancé, the President's son.

It looks like the Prez offers Charlie the attaché gig her son's funeral. "Charlie, I'm not talking to the CIA analyst," she says. "I wanna hear from the woman who loved my son enough to bind her life to his, the woman that was going to give me my grandchildren. I want to hear from her. What's she going to do?"

Turns out, Charlie wants to be judge, jury, and executioner. "I am going to find every last person who had anything to do with the death of your son," she responds. "And I'm going to end every single one of their lives."

"That's my girl," the President whispers, chillingly.

The show is scheduled to premiere on Monday, November 17, at 10 p.m. ET — immediately following The Voice.
