Grey's Anatomy Season 10 is coming to an end tomorrow, with Season 10, Episode 24: "Fear (of the Unknown)." What can we expect as Grey's closes out a decade on air and Sandra Oh (Cristina Yang) says goodbye?
We've gathered all the biggest spoilers, sneak peeks, and hints about the episode right here to help you prepare for what should be an emotional hour.
The Official Synopsis
Let's start with the official synopsis of the episode:
In the Season 10 finale, the doctors of Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital bid an emotional farewell to the beloved Cristina Yang (Sandra Oh). A possible act of terrorism rocks Seattle and causes chaos at the hospital. Meanwhile, Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) makes a life-changing decision, and one doctor receives shocking news.
We assume Mer's life-changing decision has to do with her decision on the move to DC, though we could be guessing wrong. Since Ellen Pompeo is back next year, we suspect Mer and Der will end up staying in Seattle, though after last week we have to wonder what will convince them not to go.
What's the Disaster?
As for the possible act of terror, we get a look at that in the promo photos of the episode. As we see in this sneak peek, it's an explosion at a mall.
In that video, the ER immediately jumps into action. Obviously the hospital will be overwhelmed with patients, but since the actual bombing happened elsewhere, the docs themselves should be safe… right?
Cristina's farewell will be an important part of the episode, and in this sneak peek, we see that she's doing her best to say goodbye to people in the appropriate way.
Obviously, this isn't going to be easy for Owen (Kevin McKidd), but at least we know Mer and Cristina get a great goodbye scene to honor their friendship. Oh, and in case the misleading promo had you worried, Cristina's exit is not deadly. It seems pretty safe to say she'll make it off to her awesome new hospital in Zurich in one piece.
That said, Cristina isn't the only one leaving the hospital after this season. We already know Leah Murphy has been fired, and you can expect that to stick, because Tessa Ferrer is not back next year. Gaius Charles is also leaving the show, though we don't know what that means for Shane Ross. Does he get hurt? Could he be the doc who receives shocking news?
