Grey’s Anatomy fans, get ready to pack your bags: We’re moving. Not too far, though — just to 8 p.m. instead of 9 p.m. on Thursday night when the show returns in the fall.

The good part about the move? We get our weekly Grey’s fix an hour earlier. But wouldn’t moving to an earlier time slot be risky for a show that’s gotten so comfortable where it’s lived for so long? There’s always that potential that viewers could get lost in the shuffle, but ABC isn’t worried.

According to programming chief Paul Lee, moving Grey’s to 8 p.m. (which has been a tough one for ABC to crack so far) could end up helping the network’s overall ratings because of the strong fanbase the show will ultimately bring with it. Hey, guys, he’s talking about us!

“[We are] really happy with Grey’s there,” Paul told Deadline. “I think Grey’s is going to be fine.”

But when questioned about whether the content of Grey’s is appropriate for an earlier hour — think those steamy scenes we love so much — Paul mentioned that their S + P department (the gatekeepers as far as what you can and can’t do on TV goes) is on top of it.

We don’t know how we feel about that, but we’ll wait and see how it goes in the fall. To one million more seasons of Grey’s!

Are you happy about the time change, or is 9 p.m. a better time for you to watch?
