Of all the cast member exits of Grey's Anatomy, Kim Raver's (Teddy Altman) was one of the least dramatic — though it was plenty shocking at the time.

In the Season 8 finale, Owen (Kevin McKidd) fired Teddy after she turned down a prestigious job at Army Medical Command to be in Seattle to support him. Incensed, Teddy stormed out of his office but returned in tears seconds later to hug him, having realized that he set her free.

Behind the scenes, Shonda Rhimes revealed that Kim's contract had expired and that she simply asked to move on to new projects — and both Shonda and Kim praised one another on Twitter.

Since Grey's, the 45-year-old actress has appeared in three TV series and one made-for-TV movie — Lifetime's 2010 true-crime drama Bond of Silence.

Kim returned to Lifetime in 2012 for the drama pilot The Secret Lives of Wives, but the network ultimately passed on the pilot.

From 2012 to 2014, Kim appeared in a recurring role in NBC's post-apocalyptic tale Revolution, playing Julia Neville, the subversive wife to villain Tom Neville.

And in 2013, she appeared on NCIS: Los Angeles, playing Special Agent Paris Summerskill in a two-hour backdoor pilot for a potential spinoff — NCIS: Red — focusing on a mobile NCIS team. CBS opted not to go forward with the project.

Now, of course, Kim is a star of the revival of 24, playing Jack Bauer's long-lost lover, Audrey Raines — having previously starred on the show from 2005 to 2007.

When her 24 gig is done, we bet Shonda would be open to bringing Teddy back to fill the Cristina-sized hole in Owen's heart! But in the meantime, we're glad this Grey's alum is keeping busy!

Don't miss the episode.
